"Curriculum Recommendations for Disaster Health Professionals: Public Health Law" is NCDMPH's forth in a series of peer-reviewed disaster health curriculum recommendations. These recommendations were authored by Maxim Gakh, JD, MPH, a Scholar in Residence at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
"Curriculum Recommendations for Disaster Health Professionals: Public Health Law in Disasters" addresses key questions health professionals may have regarding the intersection of disaster health and public health law. Legal preparedness topics are included, with specific information about disaster-related law. These recommendations align with the disaster health core competencies outlined in "Core Competencies for Disaster Medicine and Public Health" in Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness, the co-authored article by AMA Center for Public Health Preparedness and Disaster Response and five NCDMPH staff members.
