EMS Education
The Federal Interagency Committee on Emergency Medical Services (FICEMS) recommends that State and local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) systems improve their mass casualty incident triage capabilities through the adoption of triage protocols and systems that are based on the Model Uniform Core Criteria (MUCC). The National Implementation of the Model Uniform Core Criteria for Mass Casualty Incident Triage: A Report of the FICEMS gives extensive background on this effort.
The National Center for Disaster Medicine and Public Health is proud to partner with the Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in creating, with key subject matter experts, the addendum to the EMS Instructional Guidelines on the Model Uniform Core Criteria for Mass Casualty Triage (MUCC).
