Knowledge & Learning - YNH-CEPDR Workshops

In accordance with a task from US NORTHCOM, the NCDMPH collaborated with the Yale New Haven Center for Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response (YNH-CEPDR) on a series of six workshops designed to study the current state of competency-based education and training in disaster medicine and public health.

Specifically, the collaborators were tasked with:

  1. Clarifying the federal disaster medicine and public health education and training products currently in existence

  2. Identifying needs and explore strategies to fill education and training gaps

  3. Synthesizing long-term expectations of competencies

A final report, titled "Study to Determine the Current State of Disaster Medicine and Public Health Education and Training and Determine Long-term Expectations of Competencies" was released in November 2011. All six workshop After Actions Reports are also available as sub-menus on this page.

The NCDMPH would like to thank the numerous collaborators who made this report possible.
